Earth against Wall - Correct Rework

by simonwar » Wed Jun 04, 2008 7:07 am

Hi,

I have earth against a wall, after a big flood, water eventually penetrated through the walls.

I am going to dig it out, about 2 feet deep, and put in a damp proof membrane against the wall, line the base with chippings, 1 to 2" and I was told to lay in a pipe before covering over with the earth again.

Q. Is there a special type of pipe for this or do i use a drainpipe and pepperpot the top of it with holes?

Q. Do I connect the pipe into the drainage system?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks, S.

Hi,

how high are the ground levels?

What are you doing inside regarding the damp?
