Air bubbles feeding in with water into toilet

by GeorgeKing » Wed May 02, 2007 11:48 am

Hello

I took the lid off the toilet cistern this morning and noticed that air bubbles are feeding in with the water into the cistern. This means the cistern isn't filling up properly and water is constantly pouring into the toilet bowl.

Can you please let me know how to fix this?

Thanks very much.

George

Turn the pressure down a little at the stopcock George. The fact that water is pouring into the toilet bowl means the cistern is actually filling too much rather than not well enough and the level of the water should stop the cistern filling to the overflow level. Take a look at our project on cold water tanks, cisterns and valves and you should be able to see how to stop the water getting to this level.
