Chipped Porcelain Tiles

by ManSizedRooster » Wed Jul 23, 2008 3:49 pm

Hi

My builder has fitted porcelain tiles (on bathroom wall) but I've just noticed that the edges are chipped where they've been cut. The tiles are near black and have a black grout, but it's enough for me not to be happy. They've been up for about three weeks now so I'd like to know 1) can the chipped tiles only, be removed? 2) why they are chipping in the first instance.

Cheers Gents

the chipping is caused when they have been cut to size. What did your builder use to cut the tiles? is he used an electric tile cutter? the chips can be avoided in most cases by cutting the tile face down....if i tile is cut face up the chips do happen. If the chips are only minor ones then these can be difficult to avoid. Thanks.
