concrete between floor joists to stop noise Help, advice, information, answers and tips on all types of flooring from laminate and carpet to timber and vinyl

I want to stop noise coming up from below.

I am thinking of of putting a layer of concrete on top of the plaster and lathes bwteen the joists to stop the noise. And then some carpet and kingspan on top of that .

Will this work ? Does anyone have any experience of doing this successfully ?
