advice sought on wallpapering stairs+landing!!!

by D.I.Y. Daisy » Sun Aug 17, 2008 9:54 pm

Hey everyone,
I'm new to the forum, and need your collective expertise if you will! I am wallpapering my stairs and landing but before I start I want to know what is the easiest way to do the long tall parts of the walls. The landing is just regular walls, and all I need is a little step ladder, but on the stairs, it goes about 15-20 ft tall, and then the stairs climbs up from the bottom step. Not sure if this is clear enough for you, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I know some of you may say 'hire someone' but thats not an option.
Looking forward to hearing from you

Suggest you need to hire a specialised interior stair scaffold unit. These are not too expensive to hire and not too difficult to use either. I have used them several times for my stair-well and they are much quicker and safer to use than ladders.

They are designed for use in the tight confines of a stair well. The base of the unit stands on a set of legs which are designed for the job ie two legs are shorter and stand on a higher step in the stair hence the unit is level and stable.

Check with your local tool hire shop. You can usually rent by the day or week depending on how big a job it is. Suggest you ask them to show you one to check that you can handle the unit easily. Some are pretty heavy while others are more designed for domestic use and are easier to handle.

Best of luck!
