Shower valve - Pressure

by cerdyn » Sun Sep 14, 2008 1:43 pm

I want to purchase a shower thermostatic valve to operate with my combi. Many of the valves I am looking at are low pressure but say they work with high pressure, another has to have minimum of 2 bar. I understand that idealy the valve should opperate at times of day when pressure may drop. can anyone advise before I buy whether either these option will opereate efficiently.

Many thanks

As long as the mixers are designed to work on high pressure, and you have a high pressure system such as a combi, then all should be fine regardless of the time of day it will be used.

The problems only start if a high pressure shower is used on a gravity low pressure system, as it would not work. There would also be a problem with a low pressure only valve being used in conjunction with a combi.
