damp patches on interior wall

by bingo » Tue Oct 07, 2008 6:04 pm

Have damp patches near the chimney breast which has spread along the
wall around 3ft above skirting board. the roof has been checked out and is ok. somebody said a damp proof course is needed but am reluctant to do this if there is a cheaper and more efficient remedy---the wall looks ok from the outside. any ideas? bingo
