Plastering over paint

by arconn57 » Thu May 10, 2007 2:26 pm

I want to smooth out a bathroon ceiling which has been painted with textured paint (not artex). It is the 'emulsion with bits in' kind of stuff. The paint is in pretty good condition. Can I plaster over this with finishing plaster (will I need to PVA?), or do I need to re-board it, or do I need to strip the paint. Any advice will be appreciated.
