Hi, silly question ... but how do you solder joints under floors?

I have restricted access which means I have to point the blow torch downwards but whenever I do this the torch flares and blows itself out.

Are there better torches out there that can work upside down?

Mines a Bernzonmatic butane/propane.

as the can enough gas have you tried tilting the can at a different angle and is it strong enough
failing all this can you not use push fit connections

you can but them regulated to burn upside down, screwfix have some

You can get flareless torches btu they about 45 -50 quid. cant u use compression joints?

some times the torch just needs to warm up so burn it for a little while and check... also very new full cans will do it more than emptier ones and try starting with a gentle flame... open as you need

Mines a Bernzomatic (88230 from Screwfix) and it works fine upside down, or indeed at any angle.

benzomatic torches can work upside-down so if it's extinguishing then either you need to open the gas valve a little more or there is not enough gas in the bottle. unless your torch has a fault.
