by damiene666 » Thu Nov 20, 2008 7:49 pm

I have an electric shower but the water pressure is rubbish. I was thinking of installing a pump on the feed to it but dont know if i can use one on an electric shower. If I cant does anyone have any other suggestions?

You cannot fit a pump in a mains supply for several reasons. Firstly, pumps cannot withstand the mains pressure, and secondly, there is nowhere to suck the water from.

Several manufacturers including Triton have electric showers with integral pumps that can be fed from a header tank. Google " Triton - T80Si Pumped Electric Showers "

I have seen normal electric showers retro fitted with a separate pump (tank fed), but this is not the norm, and may not work for all if the initial pressure is too low to trigger the pump.
