can't bleed rad

by chrissie76 » Tue Nov 25, 2008 12:41 pm

Hiya,

Been trying to bleed the rad in my girls room with no sucess. I open the bleed point and air came out but I'm not getting any water out of it. Only the lower third is warming up. I've shut off the other rads and left it on with the bleed point open which has done nothing. Any ideas?

your valve(s) must be shut or you would have flooded the house by now.

hi you do not say whether its a combi or an old type system? anyway if its an old system go into the roof and find the small header tank see if it contains water it might have the ball valve stuck up in an off position so just move it up and down till water goes in

If its a combi the water must be replaced via a fill up loop by turning on the tap to the flexi pipe the when all is full make sure you turn it off again
