I am building a retaining wall, it's in an L shape, approx 1m high, 4m long down one side and 3.5m down the other.
The way I see it I can either build it from hollow blocks rebarred and filled with concrete or as a double skin cavity wall rebarred with concrete. There is no need for any finish since the wall itsself wont ever be visible.
What should I consider in order the make this decision?
Do I also need to damproof the side of the wall that retains the soil? (I will be building in weeper holes)
This question has been answered for you once in retaining wall help. A dpc is totally pointless as the water will work its way up the wall behind it and both construction methods are fine but the thicker the wall, the stronger it will be.
