baxi bermuda 57/4e lockout problem

by hamish al » Tue Dec 30, 2008 10:40 pm

hi all
i have a problem with a baxi bermuda 57/4 boiler.
the problem is that the boiler locks out .
i can understand that this could happen if the temperature in the boiler was not dissipated (all radiators on 8 in total) so i have been told by a gas engineer.
i thought that this was done by the thermostat.
if i switch off the boiler for a few seconds and then re set, it will light the pilot light ok, then it will take about 80/100 clicks/ignition before the boiler will light up . it may then run for 2 or 3hrs ok , then lock out.
i have noticed that the lockout indicator lamp is very dimmly light when the boiler is working. it never done this before untill this fault started.
any help is most appriciated.

Hi,

Could indicate sparker lead breaking down/ arcing out where it shouldn't.
You NEED an RGI for this not diy.

Could be other reasons too.
