mould and damp in corner of bedroom

by gabstar » Thu Jan 01, 2009 3:25 pm

Have recently been away over the xmas period and come some to a wet, mouldy patch in the corner of bedroom. This corner has always been prone to a little balck mould every now and again but now it is worse.
Wondering if it as anything to do will the roof or exterior wall.
Some advice on what might be the cause and on average how much these problems cost to get sorted.
Any help would be appreciated.

gabstar,
Rather an open-ended question, you first need to eliminate the possibilty of condensation - buy a humidity meter and if the RH in your house is 70+% there's a good chance it's condensation and you will need to take steps to increase the air changes.
