a few years ago 2 rads was taken of the system i have just added 2 back to the system tapped in to the upstairs rad in the main bedroom for the link.The two new rads i have added will not get warm.Ihave put a drain valve on the last rad and when i open the drain the pipe work will get hot then go cold within 10 mins after shutting the drain
no sure if i have piped it up correct long time since i have done some plumbing(Iam qualified but was a while ago).please please please please help me getting very upset with it all. :cry: :oops:

Hi Paul,

You say you can plumb, so to get it all going good I would repipe to a 2 pipe system.
I did this for a friend and it worked perfectly, but I detest 1 pipe systems.

have you installed the new rads in place of the old rad or installed in a different place and tapped in to the rad above for convienence if so and its a 1 pipe system the chances are its now out of synch
you might be better doing what steves suggested and re pipe as a two pipe system

Def agree that it's worthwhile putting 2 pipe system in.

However, given that it is as it is, are you sure that you have given an opportunity for the water to flow and return from your spur? Sounds like this is why it won't work.

thanks for help lads but only doing this for a favour do not want the expence of repiping to two pipe i will check that it can flow back when i go back to see my mate.

did u take the other 2 rads out yourself ? was it working ok before ?
1 pipe systems can struggle to maintain heat.

probably to do with the bore size of the pipe.

If you have water in the rads then it's just a simple case of balancing the system as descrided on this site in the "projects" section to try and force water through to them.

A two piper is usually the best way, but a colleague recently fitted a boiler to a one pipe system that had 17 rads on it and they all got good heat. It was a worcester 440 floorstanding combi like!

hi mate no i didn't take the rads off already done they are going back in different place.I have tapped in to the system between the main feed pipe for rad in the bedroom closest to the boiler
