Hi Redrobyn,
I live in a 1974 built bungalow with ceiling heating fitted from new.
All still working fine except for a couple of thermostats being changed.
Not bad for system that is efficient, invisible, requires no servicing and in 36+ years has only required 2 thermostats .
when we extended it some 22 years ago we could not fine a supplier of mats to fit , however I have since seen the original maker advertising our system, which they, ICI, call 'flexel' made I believe in Scotland.
Googling Flexel brings up a similar system , go products, ceiling heating, worth a look,
regards SPARX
NB electric heating is a 'controlled service' under building regs so can only be installed by a part-p registered electrician
