Mould, though no damp?

by retrocircles » Sun Jan 18, 2009 10:34 pm

We've lived in our house for 3 years, and in the last month we've found 2 small patches of mould on the walls.

The first in spare room which family member has just moved into. We put it down to him being in there a lot, and not opening windows. We cleaned off the mould, and he is now periodically opening the window, and it hasn't come back.

Went into spare bedroom yesterday, pulled out guest bed, only to find it behind there too! Only my lovely flock pattern wallpaper! Which was only put up a few months ago! :( Paper has come away slightly, but can't bleach off that mould as it's on the wallpaper. What would you recommend?

Also, any reason why mould would just appear now and not before?

retrocircles,
Weather has been cold for a long time so it may have made your walls colder allowing condensation to form. Lightly brush a weak chlorine solution on the flock wallpaper leave it for a while and rinse off (hopefully with mould).
