Hello,
I'm about to lay a new solid oak floor which has tongue and groove on all 4 sides of each board. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for placing the end joins over joists (or not). Will the T&G be strong enough to support the board if it doesn't exactly line up with a joist or should I trim each one to make sure the join is fully supported by a joist.
I'm going to put insulation underneath so I don't really want to add too many cross braces under the board joins.
Any ideas are welcome as this will be my first floor. Thanks :D
