Can I have the hot water tank moved to another part upstairs

My hot water tank is currently located on my landing in a cupboard, I want to have my loft converted but need a larger space on the landing to accomodate a spiral staircase so need reallt to get rid of the cupboard that is their. I want to move the tank to a built in cupbaord in the back bedroom which is about only 8ft away from where is currently is located but not sure if I can, I have the cold water tank in the attic currently.

You should be able to do this. The simplest way would be to route the pipes back to the old location and connect them there, however this would leave you with longer pipe runs and hence a less efficient set up. It may be better to reroute the pipes away from the old location entirely.

If someone is doing the work for you they should be able to advise, and will be able to see if there is likely to be any problems.
