What kind of basic base do I have to put down onto bare earth onto which I can move an existing wooden garden shed?

Hi Marion,
There is always a recomendation to use a concrete base. However if you get Tanilised 6" by 2" timbers and create a square that is exactly the same size as your shed base. Now fit longitudinal timbers every 16" within the square. Use two 6" nails at each butt joint. Posistion the timber frame in the new location of the shed to mark out and remove the soil. Tamp down the ground and put in some concrete blocks to supprt the frame using morter to securly fill any gaps. You will need a block at each corner and one very 16" over the entire base.
To move the shed take it to pieces. Place the floor on the new subframe and rebuild the shed. Repair any damage and refelt the roof.
You could put 100mm cenotex or other insulation into the base frame to make the shed feel warmer.
It will only last about 15 years and for a longer plan you should use concrete.
