Single brick building

by sean316 » Wed Dec 23, 2009 8:58 pm

Hi I hope someone can help, we have a house built in the 1860's that has a single brick extension to the rear, now used as a kitchen and a galley kitchen at that. As there is very little room inside (6 foot wide and 15 foot long) we thought the best way to insulate would be from the outside. I have already done a loft conversion with Upvc cladding and full insulation and wondered if battoning and kingspan (or similar) then Upvc cladding would be good enough. ie would it cause a problem to damp-proof etc. any idea's one way or the other would be most welcome, thanks
