roll top bath installation 40mm waste fitting

by roger44 » Sun Feb 07, 2010 3:11 pm

I am installing a roll top bath in a upstairs bathroom, using 40mm chromed pipe.
The waste fitting is in several parts each with a olive comperession ring. Any ideas how I can tighten these glands without damaging the crome finish?

altenatively are there any plastic or rubber seals that can be used instead of the olive ring?

don't overtighten the olive. copper push-fittings are available, at a price, not sure about chrome, never seen them personally. certainly not aware of any plastic or rubber olives suited to copper compression fittings.
