Suprima PCB

by armoured_smiler » Wed Feb 24, 2010 10:40 pm

Does anyone have the instructions that come with the new PCB replacement part 5111603 (includes fitting plate and wiring) in place of the old PCB 407750, as I have got hold of the newer PCB replacement?
Cheers

have you got just the pcb or the whole control panel-it really isn't worth replacing just the pcb. also what model is it, on the front of gas valve there is a silve plate and on the right there is a little bit of black plastic showing and there is a number on it, it will be either 401 or 411-what is it. what were the initial problems with the boiler

Hi,

Cheers for replying. I have the whole replacement assembly (that is the metal framework, wires, tempreture pot, etc;

Was removed from a more modern Suprima 50L boiler that has been replaced via a scrappage scheme. But I noted that the original PCB/unit has a earth wire to the AC fan and the gas valve, also on the gas valve a white 'jumper' wire on the molex connector which are not 'wired' on the new PCB/unit. the Potterton manual for the 'newer' PCB only gives a schementic diagram of the wiring, whilst the 'older' PCB manual actually shows the bolier and wires via a drawing (showing the earths and jumper wire).

I also note that the old PCB has the molex connectors that are known to give trouble as they get older due to there design flaw. They have the same in Pinball machines and they always start to give interference with the signals and have to be replace to fix......
