I recently had some topsoil lifted in my garden (90% is raised) in preparation to take down a wall that has shifted, ready to rebuild it.
The holes where the topsoil was removed from have filled with water (approx. 12" deep). I know we have had a lot of rain recently but I didn't expect so much water to sit and not drain away.
In the area that is having the wall rebuilt, I was planning to put a patio over, would that be possible now as the water might just sit and if it does drain below the patio, would it expand in freezing weather and cause the patio to crack (and maybe the new wall)?
Thanks.
