Can you help? When the toilet in my small cloakroom is used a loud noise which lasts approx 30" comes from the pipes - when tap is switched on, the noise disappears but returns as soon as tap is switched off.

sounds like the ball valve is vibrating, try reducing the flow of water to the toilet, alternatively re-washer or renew ball valve.
