Shower not as hot after new boiler installation

by stanners73 » Tue Apr 06, 2010 10:42 am

My father has recently had a new condensing boiler installed (not a combi), replacing an old normal boiler. But he now has a problem where his shower is only luke warm. His shower set up uses the hot water from the hot water tank and the cold is from the mains. Does anyone know why he should suddenly lose his shower temp? To rectify this i'm looking into installing a pump - will this be ok? obviously i know i'll have to alter the pipework but his present set up uses 15mm piping which i'll change to 22mm but i don't think i'll get to change the pipe size (15mm) that leads into the shower wall so will this cause any problems? Many thanks in advance of replies

stanners73,
Replacing the boiler should not have made any difference but presumably a tank stat has been fitted to the HW cyl - check this is turned up high enough. Other changes you suggest - try them and see.
end
