white staining on block paving

by carmel12 » Sun May 09, 2010 8:22 am

The block paving that has been installed for my new patio are unsightly as many bricks are stained white - believe it might be salt efferescence. Does this mean the bricks are faulty and should I insist they be replaced.
help appreciated please before I need to pay.

carmel12,
Almost certainly salts on the surface. This may disappear with weathering but it may take some time. You could try acid cleaning a small area and see if this improves the appearance.
end
