Antique wardrobe really stinks inside - can't get rid of it!

by hannah.burbedge » Tue Jul 13, 2010 9:37 am

We bought and old wardrobe, I suppose its at least 60-70 years old. It really smells awful inside, really overpowering .

Have scrubbed it, polished it and put odour neutralisers inside but nothing is working.

Will it have to be completely sanded and painted inside to get rid? Currently its in its dark wood state, probably just varnished

Many thanks for your help!

hannah.burbedge,
If the smell is emanating from something which has soaked into the wood of the wardrobe you probably will never get rid of it completely.
