Hi all just a quickie how hard is it to change from a normal boiler and replace it with a combi does it involve a lot of changes and whats the cost implications ??

In principle, changing the boiler to a combi is a straightforward job. Generally, header tanks and hot water cylinder are removed and the boiler is replaced.

Other implications rest on the age and condition of the existing pipework as well as the suitability of the preferred boiler location. Obviously, cost will be determined by all these factors.

Thanks for the info just one other question how do i get cold water does that mean a whole new pipe for the cold feed etc or can that be tapped into ?

Well, it depends where the boiler will be fitted. If it will be in the airing cupboard, then the feed to the redundant header tanks is likely to be nearby so that can be used.

Really, all the connections to the new boiler will have to be considered such as the flue arrangements. How will the connection to the hot water and heating circuits be made?
