Hi, I have a building in my back garden which built by previous owners of the property it is shown on my plans and is discribed as "exsisting building" it is built of concrete block with a tile roof, can i convert this into a granny flat.
You should check woth the local authority planning departmet on this , but if the house has its permittd development rights in tact you should be able to do this . The flat would not be able to have a seperate address but would be classed as ancillary to the dwelling.
but if the house has its permittd development rights in tact
there has been some develpoment of the site, wherein a 6x5m workshop was built with full planning consent and an extension was built over existing garage, will this fall under "permittd development rights in tact"
