New Washer and Bang when water is stopped

by beadie » Tue Jan 04, 2011 10:00 am

Due to forzen pipes in the garage we have moved the washing machine into the kitchen. Decided to get a new washer at the same time as needed one. Plumbing already setup in kitchen just not used. New washer is LG (Direct Drive). Pipework come up from stopcock (Same pipe as cold water for sink) but had a spur coming off the pipe (With isolater tap). Only issue is when the washer calls for water and the stops there is quite a bang when the water stops being called for (No Water Hammer). Had this previously but not as loud. Book for washer states water should be between 30-1000kpa. Is it possible the pressure is too high?. Please advise. Thanks.
