17th Edition Wiring Regs Exam

by mikebass87 » Tue Jan 25, 2011 2:30 pm

Hi all,

I have been doing the home study for the 17th edition wiring regs exam next week.

I bought the electacourse 2382 study pack and CD-ROM

I am just wondering how similar the electacourse CD-ROM is to the actual exam?

Also are there any tips, particular answers if a certain phrase is used in the question etc?

Are all the answers for the exam in the 17th edition IEE wiring regs book that your allowed to take into the exam with you?

Any help is appreciated

Thanks
Mike

All the answers are in the book. However there is not enough time to look up all the answers so I first answered all the ones I knew. Then went back and looked up those I did not know. Big problem is where there has been a change and one thinks one knows the answer but in fact one has answered for 16th not 17th Edition as a result I got one answer wrong.

But still passed in fact every one did. It is the golan system and all computer run so next bloke to you may have completely different questions. But there are only 4 options and it works through the book in order or at least it did with me so you do have a clue as to what section.

You want to get this
Google "amazon.co.uk/Exam-Success-Wiring-Regulations-2382-10/dp/0863418856"
It will tell you all you need to know about the exam, with sample questions.
And you can take the big red book in with you.
The best thing to do is get plenty of revision done, so you are not having to spend too much time flicking through the book.
The questions are set out in numerical section order, so your first question will cover the first section of the book and your final question will be covered in the final section of the book.
But there will be questions that cross reference between sections.
The questions are random, so not everyone taking the test will get the same patch of questions.
I even got the same question crop up twice in my exam.
