Large area of brickwork not drying

by bylromarha » Wed Mar 02, 2011 10:56 pm

My new build house is 5 years old and after the rain last week we have a patch of external brickwork about 2m square that is still looking dark.

I can't confirm if it's wet to the touch as it's a 3 storey house and the patch is between floors 2 and 3. However, I'm concerned its still a different colour to the bricks around it.

Any pointers as to what it could be? Price to fix or work done under NSBC warranty?

Who do I need to call to take a look? A surveyor, a bricky, a builder, I have no clue as never been in this position before.

Thanks

there could be mortar stuck on the ties in that patch of brickwork and it is leaving damp spots or a tray could be filled with mortar, however these should be checked on an inspection perhaps it could of been missed.
