External garden shed paint/stain

by nikkikv » Tue Jun 19, 2007 5:45 pm

Hello

I have a number of wooden sheds in my garden. I would like to paint these sheds pastel colours – yellow, pink, green and blue. However, the only external wood paint/stain I’ve seen is natural wood colours, dark blue and dark green. If I can find pastel coloured gloss paint could I use that? Would the wood still be protected from the elements?

Gloss paint needs a very well prepared ( primed and undercoated ) surface to adhere properly. It would peel off in no time if it were just applied to a shed.

I had the same dilemma choosing a nice colour for my sheds. I eventually discovered sadolin superdec satin... can choose from 42 colours and its really easy and hard wearing. It was recommended by someone who makes beach huts. Downside, it's quite expensive!
