I am about to fit an outside garden tap, which will obviously involve drilling through the wall.
The house is a fairly new timber frame type, which will have a 'membrane' between the outside stonework and the inside plaster board.
Is there any problem breaking through this membrane, or is there some way of sealing it where the pipe goes through?
Have fitted one previously to an old 'stone walled' property, where there was no membrane, and inner and outer were sealed with mastic.
If drilling through the membrane is not a good idea, are there any alternative ways to get an outside tap?
Thanks.
