Shut off timer - does it exist ? Ask questions and find answers to many subjects relating to electrics and electrical work

I have a electric water pump which pushes water up to the top floor bathroom from the hot water cylinder on the ground floor

The pump automatically switches on when the tap is opened (well - most of the time anyway - separate issue!)

Being forgetful, sometimes the tap is left on and narrowly avoided flooding the bathroom a few times...
Does such a device exist that would start a timer when the pump is activated and cut the power after, say, 15 mins? If the pump is on for less than this then the device should also automatically reset the timer for the next time.

Anyone ever come across such a contraption??

There are hundreds of timers that will do the job. RS Components or Farnell are likely best places to look.

One of the problems is most are designed to fit inside a panel or box and are not stand alone units.

Some are electronic and some pneumatic the latter are used a lot as add ons to contactors in the main for things like star/delta starting.

Moving to PLC's all sorts can be done.
