Automatic Garage Door Openers

by LeeB » Sat Mar 10, 2007 9:02 am

Hello all, this is my first ever post to the forums and I will be delighted with any helpful replies.

I want to fit an automatic garage door opener and haven't a clue about reliability/suitability, etc. I have Henderson garage doors (6 months old) and from information I have gathered, they appear to be the"canopy" type. How simple a DIY job is fitting one of these and what should I be looking for? I have seen a Motorlift ML850 opener on the Screwfix web site that seems to be what I want, but I don't want to buy the wrong thing.

I am concerned about how easy it will be to fit an opener, how secure they are and how reliable. Also, what happens in the event of power failure - is your car locked in/out of your garage?

All replies greatfully received. Thanks in advance.
