Plastering around a newly opened fireplace

by tcurtis69 » Tue Jul 03, 2007 5:08 pm

I have opened up the fireplace and have touched up the plaster around the hole, this unfortunately has cracked with the heat and fallen off. I am not sure what I can do to stop this happening again. Advice please.

You might need to use lime mortar if you are near the heat. This can be bought in tubs from builders merchants. It might be however that you are not applying the plaster properly. Please see our plastering project.
