Domestic Immersion Heater

by murphcb » Thu Jul 12, 2007 12:46 am

I fitted new ThermTec dual Immersion heater. For first few days water was too hot so I tried to lower the temperature by turning the adjustment screw to the right (about half way). I had to turn it to the right because it was already in the 'fully-left' position. It seemed to work for about a day (i.e. on time switch, on for about two hours). It then ceased to function and I found that the safety function seemed to have cut in. I have pressed the button to re-start the heater and am hoping it will work. I cannot understand why it cut out and i am wondering what I did wrong. Can anybody advise me, please? I should add taht nowhere in the insrruction was it clear how one should operate the temperature control.

hi murph normaly they have a plus or minus sign but are difficult to read but if you operate the safety button too many times you will need a new thermostat try a setting nearer the middle all the best john
