Hi

Having removed the studwall in the bathroom I want to disconnect the pull string mechanism and actual light fitting.

What do i do?

Do i just cut the wires and tape them??

Please help asap.

NEED MORE INFO R U DOING AWAY WITH BATHROOM ?
AND ROOM BEING USED FOR OTHER USE .
THE EXISTING POSITIONS OF LIGHT AND SWITCH I ASSUME
R NOT REQUIRED, SO DO U INTEND TO ALTER POSITION OF THEM AND
UTILISE THE LIGHT FEEDS AND SWITCH TO ANOTHER LOCATION , OR IS A
ALTERATION OF THE LIGHTING CIRCUIT TAKING PLACE.
GET BACK ASAP AND I CAN ADVISE FURTHER ABOUT DOING AWAY WITH
WIRES. ( IT MIGHT BE USTILL NEED THEM , FEEDS ECT )

I am keeping the bathroom, the pull switch and light fitting is not required, the room will remain as a bathroom, the other light fitting will be changed to a new chrome light fitting with 4 bulbs.

YOU DID NOT SAY THERE WERE TWO LIGHTS !!!!!
BEFORE YOU DECIDE ON THE LIGHT FITTING THERE ARE
THINGS IN BATHROOMS CALLED ZONES. 1,2,3 AND 0
THIS IS WHERE U HAVE TO DECIDE WHICH ZONE YOUR
LIGHT FITTING IS AND THEN DEPENDING ON WHERE YOUR LIGHT FITTING WILL BE THE TYPE OF FITTING REQUIRED, NORMALY
IT COULD BE ZONE 2. OR A FITTING TO 1P4X.
THE BATHROOM IS KNOWN AS A SPEACIAL LOCATION, AND WHEN
YOU ARE UNCLOTHED IN THE BATHROOM, WITH THE CONTACT OF WATER , YOU ARE MORE SUSEPTABLE TO ELECTRIC SHOCK , SO THESE
REGULATIONS ARE DESIGNED TO PROTECT BY FITTING THE CORRECT TYPE OF FITTING. BEST THING TO DO GO TO ELEC WHOLE SALERS AND
PURCHASE CORRECT FITTING.
AS FOR THE LIGHT SWITCH PULL CORD IF THAT IS REMAINING DID U HAVE TWO LIGHTS IN BATHROOM OR ONE ?
IF ONE WHERE WAS THE SECOND LIGHT U HAVE SUDDENLY MENTIONED SWITCHED FROM. LET ME KNOW, THEN WE CAN TALK ABOUT DOING AWAY WITH CABLES USING THE CORRECT METHODS.

have decided on one dimming pull switch to replace original pull switch, there are a red and black wire from one cable, and a seperate red wire, dunno where these go in fitting?? :wink:
