CAnt locate lead water main Drainage and wastage systems and plumbing help, advice and answers

Im have trouble locating the water main that comes in from the road. We have dug down about five foot in the garden where we think it is and still cant see anything.

Just wondering would it come in from the front garden and through the house or through the side shared entry.

The house is a victorian property in birmingham.

Any one that has any tips would be appriciated.

Pipes are normally ran and kept in straight lines as much as possible, if you find the outside stop tap then the pipe should run in a straight line from there to your house,

dig around the stop tap to see which directioon the pipe is going.

If you can't find the mains stop tap, phone your local water board, it's their responsibility to provide an accessible external stop tap.
