Hi there my name is Richie im a mech fitter at mo and am thinking of doing a 6 day course for 16th edition and pat testing can anyone tell me is it worth doing or just a rip off

WATTON
ANYTHING IN YOUR TRADE THAT SURFACES ON ELECTRICAL
REQUIRES KNOWLEDGE SOMETIMES AND 16 TH ED IS USE FULL
WHERE INSTALLATION WORK IS REQUIRED.
WE HAD FITTERS ON OUR 2381 16 TH ED REGS COURSE.
PAT TESTING IS ANOTHER USEFUL THING TO GAIN.
NOT WORTH TURNING DOWN !

Well worth it as you will be able to make a living fom PAT testing alone and it ain't rocket science

If you are looking to become a spark, also consider the C & G 2391, which will allow you to inspect and test other peoples work, whereas 2381 restricts you to certifying your own work.

Does the course also cover Part P in the 6 days?

I'd wait until the 17th Edition regs come in before doing a course :idea:
