I need to replace my mixer shower, not an electric shower. Are all the water supply connections the same?
The existing shower is fitted on top of a wetwall panel and I dont want to change the wetwall panel if i can avoid it. hence the question

Obviously not their to see your set up, but hope explanation of what I have installed in my home set out below is of some help.

I have an instantaneous electric shower which is connected directly to the rising main.Hence only one cold water pipe.

However I also have a mixer shower which has hot and cold pipes connected.

The cold water is connected to the cold side of the mixer shower via cold water storage tank in the loft, the hot water is connected to the hot side of the mixer shower via hot water cylinder.

The important point to make is the hot water cylinder is fed by the same cold water tank in the loft, hence cold and hot water are balanced ( same pressure).

Therefore if you are replacing like for like you should have no probs.

If you connect the cold side of your mixer shower to the rising main and the hot side to your cylinder then the chances are you will create an imbalance and make mixing hot and cold problematic.
