Hi Guys

My daughter lives in a 1920 mid terrace, and its retained some nice features including glass panelled doors.

Problem I have, is that the area around the handles/locks, have been filled in a few times, and are looking messy, AND are not receiving screws for handles very well.

I would like to bring them back to my garage, and try to do a better job, and I have the tools here, but not sure about process.

I suppose I could dig out any poor wood or filler, and after advice to buying the best filler, fill it in and sand again.

Or, I could attempt to cut out the area, and dit a new piece of wood.

Would appreciate advice please, if I can take decent pics on my next visit, I will post them.

The filler we always use is Ronseal two part filler. It comes in dark https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/DIY-superst ... 550-g.html and light https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/DIY-superst ... 275-g.html colours and sets like stone. It can be sanded and painted.
