Hi,

I am a university student conducting research on power tool use and I have a few questions for power tool users. I would very much appreciate you taking the time to answer.

1. Would you consider renting tools as an alternative to buying them outright?

2. Would you consider selling your power tool back to the store you bought it from if you no longer needed it?

3. If you were undertaking a new DIY project would you consider buying/renting an all-in-one kit containing all the tools and materials you need to complete the job? Eg. a fence building kit or treehouse kit?

No, I would never rent tools, too much hassle, and puts a time limitation on a job.
Who would want to buy back a tool ?
I would not think a complete kit would be possible as no two jobs are ever the same.

I often rent tools, heavy breakers, machinery , but never hand tools or I always prefer to buy than hire and would not sell back to a hire shop.
