stripping emulsion paint

by PATRICK HULL » Thu Aug 02, 2007 2:16 pm

I have a wooden outdoor close boarded gate. The back has some graffiti with various colour bright emulsion paints.
I want to remove this to paint the gate with wood preservative.
I've tried various strippers and solvents
How do I remove the paint?

To be honest, stripping emulsion paint can be a nightmare especially if it has been on a softwood.
I would suggest you try getting the gate dipped as this will be the only sure way of getting rid of all the paint.
