Hello:-)
We are about to install some laminate flooring to our lounge-diner, but have a small issue of a difference in the floor level between a doorway between one room and another. The level difference is a result of an extension being added and although a self levelling compound was put down at the time, it was fine for the carpet but not sure for a hard floor.
The doorway is 13" between existing floor level and the new tiled floor in the extension. Approximate difference in level is 10mm
So my question is do I have to level it again, or somehow pad out the difference with something to make sure there isn't too much stress on the joints? Maybe even cut the joints and butt the boards up as the door frame will be cut to slot flooring underneath?
This is the first time we are attempting doing flooring ourselves and really want to get it right.
Thank you in advance for any help or guidance you can give.
