Asbestos in Stud Wall of Victorian Cottage Renovated in the 70's?

by Davidt3449 » Fri Jan 30, 2015 3:23 pm

Afternoon all.

New to the forum so apologies if this is in the wrong place.

I've just bought a listed victorian cottage that I think was renovated in the 70's. I'm stripping it out and prior to refitting it and just wondered if any one had any thoughts On whether this is plasterboard or something which may contain asbestos.

I presumed it was just gypsum board, but I've since found out it was renovated intahe 79's/80's and it appears to have small fibres in the White plaster.
It's marked 'thistle bound edges, span joists' and is paper backed. Hopefully im bring paranoid but I want to be sure with the kids being around.

Thanks
David

There's supposed to be some pics here but they're too big to upload so I'll get them up when I get home.

Thanks

Hi, did you get an answer to this as I have discovered the same stuff in my roof / attic which has collapsed? Thanks, G
