Hello all,
I am purchasing a house that had damp proofing work carried (in 1999) out by a PCA registered company, therefor the work still falls within the guarantee period. My mortgage lender has requested a damp survey, as standard I believe.
The problem lies in that I spoke to a local damp proofing company today and they are saying they cannot undertake a survey on a property with an existing guarantee? To me something doesn't seem right that you can't have a survey done. The company that the guarantee is with will come do a survey for £180, however I would rather have an independent survey done, after working as an electrician for 10 years if I was asked to survey my own past work it's not like I would point out faults with it!! (Not saying there are any!!).
Planning to call PCA tomorrow but just wanted to see on here.
