I need to make a support post for one end of an awning . Material is treated 90mm square timber 3 metres high - but I wish to effectively be able to "fold it in half" for storage behind the front garden wall, leaving the bottom half fixed in situ behind the wall.
Any ideas on the best way to hinge the top half - so that when folded out, the extended post is just as strong & supportive as if it was in one piece.
( Hope I have explained clearly enough ! ) .
